What We Collect

Choosorama collects minimal data to enable voting functionality:

• Visitor UUID — A randomly generated identifier stored in an HTTP-only cookie (365-day expiry). This is used to track which pairs you've voted on and prevent duplicate votes.
• Votes — Your pairwise comparison choices, associated with your visitor UUID.
• IP Address — Used temporarily for rate limiting to prevent abuse. Not stored permanently.

Cookies

Choosorama uses a single essential cookie (choose_visitor) to maintain your voting identity. This cookie is:

• HTTP-only (not accessible to JavaScript)
• Secure (only sent over HTTPS)
• SameSite: Lax
• Expires after 365 days

We also use localStorage to remember your theme preference and cookie consent dismissal.

No Accounts

Choosorama does not require user accounts. You can vote and create lists without providing any personal information such as your name, email, or password.

Data Retention

Vote data is retained indefinitely to maintain ranking accuracy. Visitor records are retained for the duration of the cookie lifespan (365 days). If you clear your cookies, a new visitor identity is created on your next visit.

Third Parties

Choosorama is hosted on Vercel and uses Turso for database storage. No data is shared with advertising networks or analytics providers.
